It’s true! “Thrust” finally comes to fruition!
Kudos to my boys Walter Boholst and Abe Spigner of Waltertainment! For the past few years, they have been living and working in LA, all while filming and shopping a feature film called Thrust: The Movie. Born out of footage shot when Walt was covering an import show called Hot Import Nights, it later became a DVD known as Thrust Video Candy. This time around, there is a central story to the madness. It’s been in post-production for the longest time, but they just sent word that the film is FINALLY making its premiere at the Detroit Windsor International Film Festival on Saturday, June 28, at 7:00 P.M. I’m really excited for the guys and hope they can build enough of a buzz to make it in other film festivals to come (the Jacksonville Film Festival 2009, perhaps?!?). So if you know anyone who lives in the Detroit-Windsor area (or within driving distance, you should persuade them to check it out. Seating is limited to 150, I think.
Now I am probably a bit biased because I’ve known them for a while, but I am looking forward to seeing the final product. My gut feeling is that it could become a cult classic, if not widely accepted. Best parts for me: hearing A Way to Everything by my boys titofelix playing in the background, seeing Walt prance around in classic Tsinilas Clothing Company gear, and seeing the Hot Import Night footage with our Tsinilas booth in the background – ah, the memories! It seems so long ago…
Anyway, enjoy the trailer. If you get a chance, hit up the Thrust MySpace page and let Walt and the rest of the Thrust crew know what you think!
