Back in the ATL - PJ’s Wedding, Day 1
(The TSA Puffer Device at JIA…or something similar…)
So I’m in Atlanta for my friend PJ’s wedding. We’re all still getting ready, so I figure I’ll just give a little recap so far. Day one was pretty interesting…
The airplane journey here was interesting to begin with. In Jax, things kicked off with my first-ever “extensive profile search”. I can totally understand: a one-way ticket bought at the last minute - RED FLAG from the TSA, definitely. But at least the airport wasn’t too busy, and the folks were pretty good-natured about it. I had to go through this “puffer” device - jet airs blow puffs of air on you at different intervals. Didn’t know exactly what it was for, but it reminded me of that old show “Quantum Leap”. Then I went through a normal security device, and they concluded with an extensive search of my carry-on items. Good times, indeed!
My flight was delayed by about 15 minutes, which would put my arrival at a half-hour later. By the time we were mid-flight, they informed us that we would be arriving on time. So bonus points for that…until I arrived in Atlanta. I could not find my luggage. I had borrowed a suitcase from my friend Russel - a gray suitcase - and my friend Marc and I spent nearly 30 minutes searching for a BLACK suitcase.
We hit up the Whole World Improv Theatre once we got my baggage. This is the theatre that was founded by Lance Krall, and the folks there are HILARIOUS! A good time, with buckets and buckets of beer! Makes me want to check out Improv Jacksonville sometime when I get back, maybe looking into those classes they teach. Afterwards…
