Wow, wow, and more wow! The Beatles: Rock Band!!! I am excited about this game and have been waiting to see and hear something, anything about it! Somewhere after the second movie in the Scary Movie franchise, the Wayans Brothers jumped ship and the series went downhill. Don’t even try to mention Epic Movie, Disaster Movie, or Meet the Spartans - just horrible. Now it seems that the brothers are back, and I kind of want to see this. For fans of dance movies everywhere (Save the Last Dance, You Got Served, Flashdance)…

I think this might be pretty funny. I liked the trailer, at least!

(Update: Wonder if the release date for this was delayed because I saw this trailer when I saw I Love You, Man and it said it was coming soon, not February 6 as this trailer said)

This could quite possibly be one of the charming, if not cutest, videos I have come across on Vimeo - of course, I could be biased because I did take French for four years and, to this day, I love how the language sounds. To be a part of history…

There are few once-in-a-lifetime moments, times that you can look back on and say, “I was there,” and where you exactly remember where you were and what you were doing. For me, these times include the Challenger disaster of 1986, the September 11th attacks, and now November 4th, 2008 - the election of Barack Obama as the 44th President of the United States of America!

Though long and drawn out, this was an amazing race. And I’ll give credit where credit is due. I’ve followed the campaign since the primaries, and despite my aversion to what I considered to be an extremely negative campaign, Senator John McCain made quite the run. In defeat, his concession speech was quite good and dignified, and for me, it restored some of the admiration that I had for him back when he ran in 2000.

Obama’s speech, however, was simply flawless. No speech in recent times has given me chills, made my heart skip a beat, and drove me so close to tears as his did. I, with the rest of the country, have a sense of new hope and see great things happening for the US with the new direction that the Obama administration shows promise of implementing.

I think plenty of folks around the country will be sleeping a little easier tonight. =)

So it’s been forever and a day since I have blogged. And quite a bit has happened. We didn’t thwump the Bills and after more battles against the Colts, Texans and Steelers, now my beloved Jags sit 3-3. We are playing the Browns this week, so hopefully, we can make something happen. Other things that happened include seeing Barack Obama speak live and in living color, an awesome poster show, and the most recent nGen Works Anniversary party. I may not get to blogs about those things, but you can catch up with some of it on my Flickr and Vimeo sites.

I hope to start blogging more regularly, but for right now, here’s a brief synopsis on what happened the rest of the Atlanta trip in September.

TIME: 6:00 AM
LOCATION: Atlanta, GA

With the sounds of the “Bell Tower” iPhone tone ringing in my ear, I woke up and readied myself for the long trip ahead – back to Jacksonville after two amazingly fun days in Atlanta. PJ’s wedding went off without a hitch, and we topped that off with unarguably the most exciting sport in which I have participated in a long time - WHIRLYBALL! A nice mix of activites in one - part lacrosse, part basketball, part soccer, and all bumper car. Yes, BUMPER CAR, the great equalizer! So fun, and no casualties, except maybe for Marc’s sternum and Nille’s knees.

We rented the court for about an hour, and that encompassed about four 13-minute games of Whirlyball (with a five minute break for beer). In the end, there was a cool Gator vs. Bulldogs battle. It was myself, V-Money, Nille, Marievic, and Neenah (Bobdey in the second battle) for FL against Marc, Adam, Charlie, Nick and Farhad for GA. Ultimately, GA managed to eek out straight victories, but what a way to go. My highlights of the game:

- Bobdey’s stirring rendition of the National Anthem before the first FL-GA faceoff
- My “Napoleon-esque” stance as I scored the first goal of a game unscathed
- My teamwork with V-Money in the games, hasn’t been this exciting since FWO
- The infamous battle cries: Marc’s “All night long, baby”; NIlle’s “Back off, bitch”
- Marievic open for the pass…and not accepting it

Following the game, we headed back to Marc’s for Krystal’s and RockBand. We played until about 4:15 a.m., and now here we are. Back in Jax and headed to the first Jaguars home game of the season. Looking forward to this and the rest of the games this season. It’s nice to be home…
